BATCHLEY-based Redditch Borough returned to Midland League Two action this week with a resounding 4-2 win over Knowle.
It was the Borough's first taste of competitive action since early December.
Redditch manager, Julian Workman, said: "I thought it was going to be a tall order but we were quite comfortable in the end.
"We managed to play a friendly with Feckenham a couple of weeks ago, but that's all we've done for a while and the players really responded well."
Workman would have been concerned when Knowle took the lead after 20 minutes.
But a brace of goals from 17-year-old Tyriq Bailey-Nicholls plus further strikes from fellow 17-year-old Will Skelton on his debut and 18-year-old substitute Callum Hall completed a convincing victory before Knowle added a late consolation.
The results lifts Borough clear of the drop zone and with a sequence of home games to follow, Workman in confident Borough can continue to climb the table.
Borough entertain Northfield Town this Saturday at the Meitis Sport and Social Ground.
