TWO talented table-tennis players from Bromsgrove School have booked their place in the National Finals following some fantastic play at the County Championships which took place at St Egwin's in Evesham.
Karen Chu was crowned the under-19 girls individual champion while Vladimir Averin claimed the under-16 boys title.
Bromsgrove completely dominated the under-19 girls event by providing all four semi-finalists.
Karen Chu proved the class act with comfortable victories over second placed Mill Sibunruang and Katie Ho who came third.
The under-16 boys event provided some thrilling play at times.
Vladimir Averin beat Jon Lyons from Evesham's Prince Henry 3-0 in the semi-finals. while another Prince Henry pupil Ali Witheford defeated Bromsgrove's Murat Shafigullin 3-1 in their semi-final clash.
It led to a stunning final that contained some spectacular rallies before Averin beat Witheford 3-1, while Shafigullin went onto beat Lyons 3-1 for third place.
Bromsgrove's Solomon Wong also won the plate competition at this age group.
