BROMSGROVE bounced straight back from their dismal defeat at Sutton Coldfield to blitz bottom side Wolverhampton 57-19 in Midlands One West.

Hard-to-please Bromsgrove head coach Dan Protherough said: "It was a bit of a mixed bag. Overall it was a strong performance although we did allow Wolverhampton to score some soft tries.

"But it was a marked improvement from the display at Sutton where we proved way below par.

"Against Sutton we showed no leadership or discipline, while against Wolverhampton, we moved the ball much quicker and played really well for the first 25 minutes, but then fell away towards half time.

"We did exactly the same in the second half and if we want to play a much more high tempo game next season, then we have to be much fitter".

Bromsgrove No.8 Josh Tomlinson led his side's nine try spree, scoring a hat-trick while scrum half Adam Whiteman and loosehead prop Ethan Priest both picked up a couple of tries.

There were further tries from centre Jack Barwick and tighthead prop Bobby Green.

Bromsgrove bring the curtain down on their Midlands One West campaign this Saturday with a trip to Worcester Wanderers.

But Bromsgrove players will have little chance to let their hair down as they have an important date with Newport Shropshire on Sunday, May 13 when they clash in the North Midlands Cup Final at Dudley Kingswinford's ground

The Colts also have an important fixture on Sunday when they travel to Sheffield looking to book their place in the National Colts Cup semi-finals and should be boosted by the return from injury of influential Kai Douglas.
