SANTIAGO Colts and Bromsgrove Sporting have agreed to amalgamate their junior, youth and development teams and will play under the name of Bromsgrove Sporting Colts next season.
In total there will be 21 teams playing under the Bromsgrove Sporting Colts banner ranging from the mini-Rouslers for four to six year-olds to the under-18s level that will include both boys and girls teams. The set-up will include the Bromsgrove Sporting under-18s team who will continue to play in the prestigious Midland Youth Football League.
As well as his duties as the under-18s manager, Alan Horton will take on the role of youth liaison officer acting as a link between the two outfits.
Several officials from both clubs recently met up at the Victoria Ground along with some of the youngsters and their parents to finalise the agreement and for Sporting to welcome Santiago on board.
The chairman of Bromsgrove Sporting, Mike Burke, said: "This is a major step forward for ourselves and will be good for football and the community in the Bromsgrove area.
"We welcome Santiago as part of the Bromsgrove Sporting set-up and thank everybody involved for their hard work in bringing this arrangement to fruition".
Chairman of Santiago, Bill Edge, said: "This is an exciting new venture giving our youngsters something to aim for and the ability to play for high-standard local teams."
