TOM Jenkins bagged another win by claiming the Olive Hodgetts Memorial Cup at Worcester's Ravenmeadow and Perdiswell Park.

Jenkins (8 handicap) won the singles competition with 63 nett from Phil Lane (15) on 68.

Adrian Day (6) claimed third on countback from Darren Cook (19) with both on 69.

Just five of the 40 entrants matched or beat par for the day.

Jenkins started with four birdies and a par before three more of the latter after a bogey made it 28 at the turn.

Four more pars on the back nine topped off with another birdie on the 18th secured his success and a handicap reduction to six.

A Par/Bogey competition went to to Collis Fisher (24) with +6 from Tony Solomon (24) on +3.

Leighton Hine (11) edged out the fourth-placed Roger Richardson (29) and Dennis Morse in fifth on countback with all on +1.

The competitors effectively played the course on an individual hole-by-hole basis with a nett par on a hole earning zero points return, birdie or better gaining +1 and bogey or worse getting –1.

Winner Fisher earned a handicap cut to 23 with six pars, 10 plus points and only for minuses, going from +2 after the first nine to +6.

Just two more players out of 24 managed to match nett par for the course.

Wayne Humphries (6) won an individual stableford alongside the Dennis English team event with 40 points from Brian Price (13) on 39.

Five players were tied on 37 with Mark Purser (8) claiming third on countback from Barrie Hope (8), Sue Price, Anne Ignoscia and Jamie Newton.

Humphries birdied the 13th, posted 14 pars and had just three bogies on the rest of his card with his handicap reduced to five.

He had done enough to take the individual plaudits while playing a major part in winning the Dennis English trophy with his team The Rest.

They scored 342 points ahead of The Veterans on 328, The Ladies on 327 and The Seniors on 306.

Humphries was joined by team captain Mark Purser who scored 37, Steve Williams 33, Chris Williams 33, Day 29, Stephen Baylis 35, John Griffiths 29, Newton 37, Scott Thomas 36 and Richard Adcock 33.
