FOURTH placed Fairfield Villa got their Total Motion Midland League Division Two campaign back on track with a well-earned 2-2 draw at top of the table Boldmere Sports and Social Falcons.
Ellis Blakemore put Villa ahead in the first half and it could have been more after Connor Gifford hit the post.
Boldmere hit back in the second half through their giant striker Kyle Hudlin before Connor Collins came off the bench to put Villa back in front.
But Boldmere responded again with a goal from Reece Gibson to share the points and Villa spokesman Paul Oakes admitted: "A draw was a fair result.
"From our perspective, it was a very good point as Boldmere have only lost once in the league this season and are very strong at home.
"We've been below par and spluttering of late, so we asked the players for a response and we got it despite the fact we were missing some key players."
Villa host struggling Hampton FC this Saturday in a Midland League match.
