ALCESTER's first XV found themselves without a fixture this week while an understrength second string travelled to Coventry club Pinley and crashed 39-10.

The seconds arrived in Coventry short of players, but credit to Pinley who sportingly loaned them some of their own.

Pinley quickly plundered three tries before Alcester finally got themselves on the scoreboard courtesy of a James Hibberd try which Matt Ashby converted and then added a penalty.

But this proved to no avail as Pinley ran away with the game in the second half by scoring five unanswered tries.

The firsts return to Midlands Three West South action this Saturday when making the short trip to third placed Shipston on Stour.

REDDITCH resume their Midlands Four West South campaign with a tough trip to top of the table side Old Wheatleyans who have won all six of their league games to date.
