WORCESTERSHIRE FA's planning application for a revamp of Claines Lane has been approved by Worcester City Council.

The demolition and reconstruction of a clubhouse and changing rooms incorporating office plus a new artificial 3G pitch, floodlights and a 100-seat stand received the green light at today's planning committee meeting.

CEO Nichola Trigg last month revealed the county association planned to purchase and relocate to the site currently leased from Worcestershire County Council provided the plans went through.

It was mentioned that the floodlighting had been designed to minimise "light spill" and disruption to bats.

Councillor Roger Berry commented to had been “good to see” to project approved.
