MALVERN triathlete Lucy Bennett-Poole is set to represent Great Britain after securing her age-group place for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in September.
Bennett-Poole sealed her spot for France after finishing sixth in the female 45-49 age group in the 70.3 Ironman in Stafford with a time of five hours, 52 minutes and eight seconds.
Andrew Rickard who is also a member of Malvern Triathlon Club competed in the male 45-49 age group and finished in 6.50.40.
Six athletes raced at the Cotswold 113 Triathlon, with Vikki Sivertsen taking first place in the 50+ age group after coming home in 5.07.00.
Stephen Clarke (5.26.54), Dick Watling (5.49.31), Wayne Qualter (6.03.44) and Andrew Heath (6.12.48) competed in the male 50-54 age group.
Competing in her first triathlon Emma Watling raced in the female 25-29 age group and finished in 7:01:54.
Malachi Cashmore came 13th place in the British Triathlon Youth and Junior Super Series in Leeds while Neill Williamson finished the Wales Triathlon middle-distance event in 5.23.38 to take 2nd place in male 50-59 group.
