BROMYARD secured the three points required to clinch the Worcestershire Cricket League Division One title despite a 48-run defeat at Worcester Nomads.

Ben Schiffmann took 6-17 from 15 overs for second-from-bottom Nomads, who are set to be relegated, as Bromyard were skittled for 115.

Nomads managed 163 all out with Jamie Oliver (44) top scoring as Zahid Saeed claimed 4-24.

Long-time leaders Colwall had to settle for the runners-up spot after beating Pedmore by five wickets.

Droitwich Spa continued their end-of-season revival by beating Cookley by four wickets.

Cookley were dismissed for 84 all out as Max Young and Martyn Davies took 5-14 and 4-31 respectively.

Division Two champions Ombersley beat Enville by eight wickets to remain unbeaten throughout the season.

Barnards Green seconds secured promotion from Division Three after beating Rushwick by 136 runs thanks to Will Dovey (101 not out) and Ben Sutton (72no and 6-50).

Osman Fiaz (109) completed a fine season with the bat for Old Vigornians to set up victory against relegated Pershore seconds and secure fourth place.

Former captain Fiaz, who hit 965 runs in 19 innings in 2019, signed off his league career with OVs from 104 balls and shared an opening stand of 133 with next season’s proposed skipper Joe Sullivan (44).

OVs were bowled out for 238 as Chris Ridings picked up 5-57.

Angus Guthrie (2-28), James Bader (3-18) and Alex Parker (3-14), the leading wicket-taker this season with 39, finished off Pershore for 111 despite 49 from Chris Holtom.

Kempsey finished fifth after a seven-wicket defeat to Redditch seconds and Martley survived the drop by beating Old Elizabethans seconds by five wickets.

James Ganderton (5-13) and Alec Francis (3-20) removed OEs for 112 before Alex Basford (45) helped the villagers to victory.

In Division Four, Faisal Khalid (96no) ensured Worcester seconds got the points needed for promotion when they beat Astwood Bank thirds by nine wickets.

Worcester Nomads seconds finished the Division Five season with a bang as Roger Dixon (140) and Derek Austin (131) enjoyed a 248-run opening stand to help thrash relegated Feckenham seconds by 306 runs.

OVs seconds finished the season in fifth place in Division Six after a 104-run win at basement boys Cookley seconds.

Steve Campbell-Ferguson (115) top scored in the Worcester side’s 264-4 with George Hayward-Meek adding 36, Jimmy Dewhirst 26, Dom Lee 29no and Elliott Turner 15no.

Cookley were dismissed for 160 with Ivan Campbell-Ferguson taking 2-33, Chris Morrall 2-39 and Turner 2-10.

Birlingham celebrated winning Division Eight with a six-wicket victory at Bredon seconds.

Chris Cosnett took 4-45 and Sam Robinson hit 134no as Birlingham scored 192-4 in reply to 190 all out.

Kempsey seconds finished in the bottom two despite beating Martley seconds by 23 runs with Mohammed Farooq scoring 108 and Tim Winstanley taking 6-67.

Worcester thirds secured the second promotion spot in Division Nine with a 40-run victory at Alveley seconds thanks to Dhanyal Ali (6-11) helping bowl the hosts out for 94 after Andy Fletcher earlier got 54 runs.

OEs thirds finished third after a 66-run defeat at Ombersley thirds who amassed 243-3 with Harry Annable hitting 111.

Martyn Preece scored 109no in Himbleton seconds’ winning draw against Stourbridge fourths.

Matt Blackmore (79no) helped Droitwich thirds to a three-wicket win at Himley thirds.
