A resilient Bromsgrove Sporting battled hard to earn themselves a point at Garden Walk, as they drew 0-0 with Royston Town on Saturday afternoon.

The first half was dominated by the home side. The 14th minute saw Sporting keeper Aaron Clayton brilliantly save a Bruno Tavares one on one effort with his feet. Soon after, another effort smashed the bar writes Max Banner.

The 20th minute mark saw a Scott Bridges free kick headed over the bar by Brandon Adams. 18 minutes later, Tavares had a shot blocked before captain Adam Murray had a golden opportunity but could only hit the post from six yards out.

Sporting did enjoy a couple of chances late in the half, as Joe Willis struck a free kick over from an acute angle, which was followed by Jamie Molyneux shot straight at the keeper.

The Rouslers momentarily thought they had taken the lead 13 minutes into the second half, as Connor Taylor found the back of the net - unfortunately for the visitors, it was ruled out for offside.

Clayton had to be alert to further chances later in the half; he tipped a Bridges free kick wide before superbly saving a shot from Adams with his legs with five minutes remaining.

Bromsgrove would eventually go on to claim a hugely valuable point, thanks largely to a string of fine saves from the impressive Clayton.
