Hereford loanee Toby Raison scored his second Bromsgrove goal in as many games, as Sporting recorded a 1-1 draw against league leaders Banbury United.

The game did not begin until 3.30pm, as an incident not far from the ground led to the delaying of the kick off on health and safety grounds writes Max Banner.

There wasn't a long wait for the opener though, as Jay Williams headed the home side into the lead after just five minutes. However, an impressive display from the Rouslers was rewarded with a leveller, as Raison poked home from close range.

Williams' opener came when he leapt highest in the box to guide a corner into the back of the net.

Sporting didn't appear to be overly shaken by that goal though, with Jamie Molyneux, Will Shorrock, and Josh Quaynor all having chances at goal as the half progressed.

The talismanic Chris Wreh almost doubled Banbury's lead with 10 minutes of the half remaining, but his well struck effort went just wide.

The Puritans had a couple of chances early in the second half, with Morgan Roberts shooting across goal before Wreh had another good opportunity, this one saved by Sporting stopper Ollie Taylor.

The 62nd minute saw Charlie Wise head a Shorrock corner onto the crossbar, but Bromsgrove wouldn't have to wait long for their goal, as a Shorrock free kick into the area was eventually knocked in by Raison two minutes later.

Wreh had a further opportunity in the 87th minute, but could once again only find Ollie Taylor. The two sides played out five minutes of additional time, but no more goals would be scored, as Sporting bagged a thoroughly deserved point.
