Bromsgrove Sporting continued their good run with a win at home against Redditch.
A fixture today in which rivalry was put aside to celebrate, and mourn, the untimely passing of Tom Rankin. A minutes applause prior to the game, and in the 8th minute brought both sets of fans together writes Shaunna-Grace Murphy.
Bromsgrove dominated the first half with big chances from Callum Ebanks, Will Shorrock and Jamie Molyneux. Despite the dominant first half, sporting couldn't find the net. Daniel Sweeney came close for Redditch in the closing moments of the first half, however his shot hit the outside of the post.
Sporting continued their form in the second half, and in the 65th minute Nathan Hayward scored from a sporting corner. The ball was crossed and after a scramble in the box Hayward poked it in from 3 yards out. Ebanks went down in the box shortly after however the ref waved the penalty shouts away.
The game continued in Bromsgrove's favour with Will Shorrock creating a flurry of chances.
Letford came close to netting a second for Sporting however Boucher saved comfortably.
A big three points for Bromsgrove Sporting in their battle to avoid relegation. Both sets of fans paid a great tribute across the 90 minutes to Redditch United and Bromsgrove Sporting's Tom Rankin.
