Bromsgrove Sporting took the short journey to Stratford Town on August Bank Holiday Monday with the hope of gaining three points against local rivals.

After working well in the second half of the Hitchin game on the previous Saturday, The Rouslers set up in a 3-5-2 formation with travelling fans ecstatic to see both Mikey Taylor and Dan Sweeney up front together.

The Bards though started on the front foot calling in visiting 'keeper Ollie Taylor very early on. However the in-form keeper dealt calmly with the chances. James Fry opened the scoring for Sporting against his previous club on 16 minutes.

As the game kicked back off Stratford immediately went up field, took their chance well and immediately equalised through new recruit Adam Rooney.

Sporting came back in the second half thanks to a Dan Sweeney penalty after a handball in the Stratford penalty area however again Stratford again equalised shortly after and took control of the game with two more well-taken goals and the game ended 4 - 2 in their favour.

On Saturday Sporting hosted Hitchin Town writes Shaunna-Grace Murphy.

Miro Pais was back into the starting line-up after a long period of injury problems, as well as Ammar Dyer who missed the Rushall game due to an ankle injury.

The game started slowly and just after 10 minutes, Lewis Barker for Hitchin received a red card after a rash challenge on loanee Harvey Gregson. However, though the visitors were down to ten men, they took their chances and scored through Finley Wilkinson.

The second half for Sporting started well thanks to much needed changes. Manager Thomas Baillie brought on Mikey Taylor on to play up front with Dan Sweeney which instantly made an impact for the side.

Sweeney smashed home on the 47th minute thanks to a Mike McGrath cross. More chances came Sporting's way with Mikey Taylor shooting wide both times. However he continued to knock on the door and his goal came in the 68th minute after a scramble in the box.

With four added minutes on the clock The Rouslers were in search of their third but Hitchin defended and played well despite being a man short.

Sporting claimed the three points in the end, despite a very well-fought battle from Hitchin.
