BROMSGROVE Sporting suffered a bloodbath against Leiston which was the final act for boss Thomas Baillie.

The Rouslers conceded six first half goals to crash to their second home defeat of the week after a 0-1 loss against Tamworth.

Manager Thomas Baillie made the formation change of 4-3-3 as he was conscious that the club were playing well but not scoring goals.

A forward three of Taylor, Sweeney and Sutherland on paper are a threat, however today it did not come through.

Sporting's number one keeper Ollie Taylor got injured against Tamworth so unfortunately was left out of the squad. Baillie brought in Liam Armstrong in on loan to cover the position.

The game kicked off and instantly went in Leiston's favour, in the fourth minute Barnes opened the scoreline and in the eighth minute he doubled his tally. In the 11th minute Bailey-Dennis scored via a corner giving new keeper Armstrong no chance.

Things went from bad to worse for The Rouslers in the 25th minute Hutchings made it four.

Seconds later, Fowkes made it five and then six in the 44th minute.

Big changes expected from the side in the second half, a slight formation change saw Sweeney up front on with Taylor and Sutherland behind.

Ammar Dyer was the brightest spark in the second half, making the running on the wing and his great attacking play and was a key to Sporting not conceding more in the second half.

In the 67th minute Will Davies made it seven for Leiston. The game was quiet following this with Sporting bringing on in-form Ryan Edmunds.

With 87 minutes gone a penalty was awarded to Sporting. Taylor converted the chance but the goal wasn't enough for The Rouslers to take anything from the game which ended 1-7.

Overall, the second half showed what Sporting can do under pressure and also showed the bright spark in Ammar Dyer and Ryan Edmunds.

The team travel to Ilkeston Saturday in hopes of turning the first half of the season around.

They will however make the trip without manager Baillie following an announcement that he has left the Victoria Ground.

A statement released on Bromsgrove Sporting's website on October 16, the day after the Leiston hammering, said: "Thomas Baillie and his management team have left Sporting by mutual consent.

We thank them for their hard work and wish them the best for the future."
