Bromsgrove School’s U16 netball team were crowned the second-best team in the country at the National Schools Finals at Oundle School.
The U16 netballers had previously won the district, county and regional tournaments before qualifying to compete at the National Finals against the top 18 schools in the country.
The U16s had a successful start to the tournament, having eight hard fought pool matches where they beat Cheadle Hulme, Brentwood School, Yarm, Torquay Girls’ Grammar, Wakefield Girls’ High and Stamford.
The team then progressed through to the semi-finals where they faced a strong side from North Chadderton School. In a thrilling semi-final Bromsgrove emerged victorious with a well-deserved win.
In the final, the team faced Redmaids High School and after a well contested match, Bromsgrove just narrowly lost. They finished the day as runners up.
The U14 Netball team also qualified for the National Finals, sadly they just missed a place in the semi-final, but we are proud that they are one of the top 8 teams in the country.
