There was a last minute change of venue for Sporting's away match against Nuneaton Borough on October 24 following the issue of an eviction notice at the club's Liberty Way Stadium so the game went ahead at the Leicester Road Stadium in Hinckley.

Nuneaton's internal problems did not affect their performance on the pitch though as they ran out 2-0 winners in an entertaining and skilful game where they shaded their Worcestershire opponents across the 90 minutes.

Borough started well with Camron McWilliams having a shot saved as early of the second minute but for the next twenty, Sporting had the upper hand.

Conor Tee in particular was creating opportunities as well as getting a couple on shots on target. However it was captain Luke Rowe who had the best chance on the 19th minute when his scorching effort was deflected for a corner.

The pattern of the match though was beginning to swing in Nuneaton's favour as they closed down the creative players in The Rouslers' midfield and made better use of the ball when in possession.

Both Victor Nirennold and Kacy Butterfield has good efforts but on the 27th minute Butterfield tapped on a cross from the right to the highly experienced Leroy Lita who drove into the corner of the net well beyond Ollie Taylor's outstretched arm.

Just before the interval, Lita had another good chance but on this occasion, it was gathered safely by Taylor.

The second half continued much in the same vein with Borough having the better of the play and possession but with no change to the scoreline.

It was obvious for Sporting to have any chance of an equaliser that they needed a change to the game plan so manager Mike McGrath brought on 3 substitutes to bolster the attack. That looked to work well with the away side getting further up field and spending more time in the last third of their opponents half.

However the push forward came at a price on the 84th minute when Owen Oseni made a fast break from his own half into the Sporting penalty area. Miro Pais gave chase but clumsily bought down the pacey striker and the referee pointed to the spot. Oseni converted doubling his side's advantage.

There were no further additions to the scoreline and play ended after six minutes of added time.
