BUOYANT Bromsgrove Sporting look for a third Southern League win under new boss Tim Flowers when struggling Berkhamsted visit the Victoria Ground on Saturday (3pm).
Sporting have enjoyed two useful wins at home to St Ives Town (2-0) and at Hitchin Town (2-1) with former England goalkeeper Flowers.
After a two-week break, Sporting’s vice-captain and club record appearance holder Aaron Roberts said: “I think I speak on behalf of everyone when I say I am really looking forward to Saturday.
"With the lift in recent form and our two excellent wins I think, as a team, we want to continue as soon as possible.
“I’ve noticed the creeping up in numbers of support, both home and away, which means a lot to all the lads.
“The standard of training is very high and a lot of credit must go to the manager who has given us a platform to get key results.
"We have been pretty close all season but not managed to get over the line in some games."
Flowers said: "I was saying to the lads that momentum, not just in football but in life, is a massive thing and if you can get that with you for a period of time you can really push yourselves on – don’t be satisfied with a win.
"Good teams and good players want to go and win the next one and the next one and if we can get a feelgood around the Victoria Ground then it can take you a long way."
There was no game for Sporting last weekend as scheduled opponents Nuneaton had to withdraw from the league in January owing to significant financial problems and all their results, including a win against the Rouslers, have been expunged.
Several matches were called off due to waterlogged pitches as Sporting dropped from 14th to 15th position in Premier Division Central ahead of the midweek fixtures.
Bromsgrove remain 10 points above the relegation zone but getting into the play-offs is now to all intents and purposes impossible, even if they won all of their remaining nine matches.
But team captain Luke Rowe said: “Things are definitely looking up for us with changes both within the squad and off the pitch so credit goes to all involved!
“With no game last weekend, I would like to take the time out to thank all our fans with a very special mention to those who travel home and away week in week out!
"Without your support, the club wouldn’t be where it is.
“I also want to thank all the volunteers at the club for their hard work behind the scenes. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to play the games everyone enjoys to watch."
