DROITWICH-based Spa Athletic have received a funding boost on the eve of the new season in the Bromsgrove and District League.
Local supermarket Costcutter has donated £575 to the club through the local charity Westlands Community Centre.
The money will be used to pay insurance, county and league fees, plus much needed match balls, goal nets, corner flags and socks to top up the existing kits.
The corner flags will carry both the Costcutter and Westlands Community Centre names, while the goal nets will be in the green and white colours of kit sponsor Grantham Welding.
Community Centre Secretary Linda Hobson presented the cheque to chairman Joe Storey at the recent annual general meeting.
Spa Athletic secretary Bill Eastbury thanked Hobson and her treasurer Jenny Davis for all their help in putting the package together and for attending the AGM.
