FREE-SCORING wing Tom Howe has been rewarded for his consistent performances in cup rugby for Worcester Warriors this season with a new one-year contract.

The 23-year-old back, who joined Warriors from Wasps’ academy in the summer of 2017, has run in 13 tries in 18 first-team appearances since he arrived at Sixways including seven in as many European Challenge Cup and Premiership Cup matches this season.

Howe has also been a prolific try-scorer for Cavaliers in the Premiership Rugby Shield and was delighted to have extended his contract with Warriors.

Howe said: “It’s an exciting time to be at Warriors with the new owners who have great ambition for where they want to take the Club.

“(Director of rugby) Alan Solomons is doing a fantastic job with his recruitment and retention.

“He’s already signed some good new players and retained the core group of the current squad.

“Every winger loves scoring tries and I'd be lying if I said I was any different.

“Hopefully I can keep improving and pushing for a place in the Premiership squad.”

Although Howe has yet to feature in a Gallagher Premiership squad this term, Solomons is excited by his potential.

“I am pleased that Tom is extending his stay with us,” Solomons said.

“He is a good young winger with pace to burn who has had some notable performances this season.

“I have no doubt that he will continue to develop and add value to the squad.”
