FORMER Worcester Warriors prop Jack Cosgrove is set to be reunited with Dean Ryan and Ceri Jones after penning a two-year deal at Dragons.

Cosgrove is a product of Warriors’ academy where he worked under then director of rugby Ryan and Jones who was assistant forwards coach at Sixways.

After spells at Edinburgh and Bristol Bears Coventry-born Cosgrove returned to Warriors for a second stint in December last year.

But the 24-year-old loosehead made just one substitute appearance and his contract was not extended at the end of the campaign.

Jones is forwards coach at Dragons who have recently appointed Ryan as director of rugby.

Cosgrove said the move to the Welsh region would act as a “fresh start” and was determined to “put a marker down” in pre-season.

“I’m really excited about the move,” Cosgrove said.

“There is a real buzz around the region with the recent appointment of Dean.

“It’s a fresh start for me and I really want to be playing every week.

“I know Ceri from our time together at Worcester and he spoke passionately about the future at the region.

“But I know there will be no favours because we’ve worked together, I need to show what I can do from day one.

“I’ve got to get my head down and work hard in pre-season to impress and put a marker down. It’s an exciting prospect and I’m just looking forward to getting started.”

Jones added: “Jack is a talented young prop that I know well and who is very keen to now push on with his career.

“He has all the attributes to make a big impact at the Dragons and we feel he will really benefit from our environment, where he can learn from the senior forwards and also show his true potential.”
