HOOKER Isaac Miller has become the 10th current Worcester Warriors player to sign a contract extension.

The 25-year-old Scot joined Warriors from Greene King IPA Championship club London Scottish in the summer of 2018.

Miller suffered a broken collarbone on his first Warriors appearance, in a pre-season friendly against Benetton in Italy, and missed the first three months of the 2018-19.

Warriors recognised Miller’s potential by awarding him a one-year contract shortly after he had returned to action in December 2018 and his further progress this season has been rewarded with a further extension which will keep him at Sixways until the end of the 2021-22 season.

“I’m extremely grateful to be continuing at the club for the next couple of years. I’m really excited about where the club is going,” Miller said.

“We’ve got a great group of lads here. It’s good having some experienced hookers here like Niall Annett, Matt Moulds and Joe Taufete’e who I can learn from. They have all been good helping me along.

“I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in. over the next two year.

“Last year was tough with getting injured early on, but this season I have managed to stay injury- free so far and get a bit of game time where I can.”

Miller, who previously captained Loughborough Students in National One, also played for Scotland Under-20s.

“Isaac is a young player with terrific potential,” said Warriors director of rugby Alan Solomons.

“He is a dedicated professional who works really hard on the technical aspects of his game.

“He is an outstanding footballer with good skills and a massive work-rate and is a bundle of energy around the field.

“He is also a great bloke and an excellent team man. He is an absolute pleasure to work with and I have no doubt that he will play a big role in the club going forward.”

Miller follows Ted Hill, Andrew Kitchener, Francois Venter, Nick Schonert, Sam Lewis, Anton Bresler, Ethan Waller, Gareth Simpson and Niall Annett in committing his future to Warriors.
