REPORTS continue to swirl around the future of Worcester and Scotland number eight Cornell du Preez, who is rumoured to be leaving the club for French Top 14 side Toulon this summer.

The 29-year-old's contract is not up until the end of next season but The Rugby Paper have said he will leave Sixways and head to the Cote d'Azur, leaving Worcester on the look out for a number eight.

Du Preez has been with the club since 2018, making 37 appearances and scoring two tries. He has recently been involved with the Scotland squad and won his last cap in the autumn against Wales.

Warriors have the likes of GJ van Velze, Morgan Monks and Tom Dodd who play eight naturally but it is a position where the coaches may be looking to strengthen.

Worcester have been busy in their recruitment for next season, having already announced Jack Owlett, Christian Judge, Will Chudley, Willi Heinz, Scott Baldwin and Duhan van der Merwe for the 2021/22 campaign.

The Rugby Paper reported on Sunday that Warriors might be ready to add another as they are monitoring the situation regarding Tom Hudson, the Gloucester back.

Hudson, 26, is currently on loan at Championship side Ampthill as his future seems not to be at Kingsholm.
