WORCESTER Warriors have extended the loan spell of Exeter Chiefs tighthead prop Maks van Dyk for a second week.

The experienced van Dyk made his debut as a second half replacement against Bath Rugby at The Rec on Saturday and helped to set up Ethan Waller’s bonus point try.

With three tightheads – Nick Schonert (neck), Richard Palframan (knee) and Conor Carey, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season by a bicep injury – still on the sidelines Warriors have decided to extend van Dyk’s loan to cover the Gallagher Premiership match against Northampton Saints at Sixways on Saturday (kick-off 3.00pm).

Van Dyk, 29, played for Sharks, Cheetahs and Griquas in his native South Africa, had a spell on loan at Leinster, four seasons with Toulouse and a stint with Harlequins before he joined Exeter for this season.
