WORCESTER Warriors’ Scott van Breda will remain with Jersey Reds on loan for the remainder of the Greene King IPA Championship season.

Van Breda joined Warriors from Jersey three years ago and returned to them on a one-match loan earlier this month for their season opener at Saracens.

Van Breda has now returned to the Channel Islands club and will play for them in Saturday’s match against Bedford Blues at Goldington Road.

With the Premiership Rugby Cup tournament being cancelled this season due to the ongoing Covid situation, the chance for fringe squad players such as van Breda to get some game time has been squashed.

Second-row James Scott (Glasgow Warriors) and prop Kai Owen (Coventry RFC) have also enjoyed some much needed minutes on loan already this season.

Last season van Breda had two short loan spells with Southern Kings, another of his former clubs, in the Guinness Pro-14 competition.

He previously played for Western Province and Stormers before joining Jersey in 2017.

Van Breda, 29, has made 18 appearances for Warriors, his most recent against Pau in the European Challenge Cup in December.
