Celebrity Big Brother housemate James Hill is the clear favourite to win the UK vs USA-themed Channel 5 reality show.

The affable former Apprentice star’s odds are as short as 8-15 with bookmaker Coral, while Atomic Kitten singer Natasha Hamilton is second best at 3-1, but it’s still all to play for as the clock ticks down.

The 27-year-old, who appeared on the 2014 series of The Apprentice, has won fans by keeping a steady head inside the fractious Big Brother house while so many others have lost theirs.

Alongside James and Natasha, the finalists are comedian Bobby Davro, Loose Women’s Sherrie Hewson, X Factor couple Stevi Ritchie and Chloe-Jasmine Whichello (who count as one) and sole American Austin Armacost, best known for being the ex-boyfriend of designer Marc Jacobs.

Over the last month, celebrities from both sides of the pond have taken part in a series of tasks and challenges as they battled for supremacy.

Glamour model Tila Tequila was removed from the house after only one day when it emerged she’d made a series of anti-semitic remarks on social media.

US star Daniel Baldwin was the first to be evicted followed by The Bill actor Chris Ellison, presenter Gail Porter and hip hop artist Fatman Scoop.

A trio of Americans were next to get the boot: reality TV star Farrah Abraham, ex-adult actress Jenna Jameson and supermodel Janice Dickinson, leaving the final six to contest the Celebrity Big Brother crown.

This series is notable for one of the best twists to date; for the first time ever, a fake eviction wasn’t quite what it seemed.

The rather catty pairing of Farrah and Jenna (collectively known as Jarrah) were fake-evicted into a luxury suite to spy on the house, but the rest of the Big Brother housemates were in on the joke and made fools of them.

There was also the bizarre spectacle of Diana, Princess of Wales’s former butler Paul Burrell spending four days inside the house to teach the Americans to be good servants to the British housemates – who had become Big Brother’s royal family.

Although most have been voted out, the US contingent can take some consolation from having provided more entertainment than their British rivals.

The Americans, not just content to pick arguments with the home stars, frequently fought among themselves, with Austin and Janice’s fights taking on a particularly nasty tone at times.

Fans have also enjoyed the bromance between straight contestant James and gay housemate Austin, another factor in the former Apprentice candidate’s popularity.

After four weeks of tears, rows, shower shenanigans, nominations and evictions, the moment has arrived; who wins? As always, you decide.

Celebrity Big Brother’s final airs on Channel 5 at 9pm
