The red team, led by Spandau Ballet pop star Tony Hadley and comprising Jorgie Porter, Lady Colin Campbell and Kieron Dyer, along with the yellow team’s nominated campmates George Shelley and Chris Eubank, had to take part in the Hell-Evated trial after losing out on previous challenges in the latest series of the ITV reality show.

The team-mates had to sit in cages suspended high above a lake as creatures and critters were dropped on them. The first celebrity who dropped out would forfeit five stars, with each subsequent withdrawal losing another meal star for camp.

Author Lady Colin said: “I have enjoyed it up to this evening, at which point I have ceased to enjoy it.”

First to face the cage challenge was Union J singer George , who was covered in crickets and cockroaches, before ex-boxer Chris had cockroaches dumped on him.

“I was zenned out. I used to fight for a living,” he told hosts Ant and Dec.

Former soap star Jorgie jumped around when 16,000 cockroaches fell on her.

Tony had to face a double round of cockroaches when he was picked for the third and fifth rounds.

Despite looking up as they fell on him, he gamely brushed the insects off his face, saying: “I just thought I’d add that to the game,” as Dec told him he had around 30,000 cockroaches with him.

Having successfully completed the trial, they won 10 meals for camp, and made their way to Croc Creek, where they were united as one camp for the first time.

Earlier, the red and yellow teams both lost challenges.

The yellow team – made up of leader Susannah Constantine, Yvette Fielding, Eubank, Brian Friedman and Duncan Bannatyne – lost the Skydive challenge, but the red team lost two of three challenges, the Tree Of Torment and the Bad Buoys.

As the two teams met each other, they got on immediately.

Yvette told Tony she used to have a poster of him on her wall when she was younger, Lady Colin said she would be happy for the campmates, while Kieron announced he would be responsible for toilet duties as he cannot cook.

The former England footballer said: “They all seem wonderful people and all seem to be getting on extremely well but I’m finding it hard because they’re not people I’d usually hang around with.”

Fashion expert Susannah, one half of Trinny and Susannah, said: “It’s really nice having everyone together and everyone seems so fantastic. I can’t wait to get to know them all better.”

Jorgie and Lady Colin will face the next challenge, which will air at 9pm on ITV on Monday.
