PEOPLE who lived alongside or worked on Droitwich canals have been asked to record their memories as part of the restoration of the town's two historic waterways.

Ed Moss, who is managing the project, said: "It is really important to record the social history of these two great waterways and the part they played in peoples' lives.

"We are looking for memories and photographs to help bring the history of these canals to life."

The project wants to capture memories of the canals from people of all ages and record them in writing and on DVD.

To help capture as much information as possible, local residents will also be able to attend a short course, free-of-charge, to learn how best to ask questions of people.

Anyone with a story to tell about Droitwich Canals or photographs of the waterways should contact Edward Moss, on 01452 318000.
