BUDDING young performers have been in final rehearsals for their school play.

Students at South Bromsgrove High School are performing in The Wedding Singer, between February 13-15.

The play is based on the highly successful comedy film, starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, and aims to whisk audiences back to the sights, sounds and fashions of 1985.

The production features songs from the film, as well as a host of new songs written for the Broadway show.

Director Chris Sugars, who is head of drama at the Charford Road-based school, said: “This show has everything: love and romance, comedy, great songs performed by our outstanding cast and band, and even a Mr T impersonator.

“Our cast have been working incredibly hard to produce this show, and we hope to bring the house down at all three performances.”

Tickets are available from the school’s reception, and bookings from the public are welcome.

The show will be held in the school’s main hall on performance nights, from 7.30pm.
