Concerns after housing growth consultation proposal is rejected

REDDITCH Council is considering its options after a recent council meeting, when an important consultation document regarding future housing development around Redditch was not approved.
The recommendation was for the Redditch Growth Consultation document to be sent out for residents to have their say.
The consultation was being carried out jointly with Bromsgrove District Council as the potential housing sites are located in Bromsgrove.
Redditch councillor Greg Chance, whose portfolio covers planning and regeneration, said: “Unfortunately because there were more Conservative councillors around the table than Labour members as the vote was taken, it means that this important cross boundary consultation can not take place.
"We are currently considering our options and concerns around this decision.”
