RUBERY youngsters participated in a fund-raising week to raise money for Sport Relief.

The children from Jellybabies Nursery and Pre-School participated in various activities including football, climbing, jumping, gymnastics and yoga, relay races, tackling a bumpy obstacle course and improving their balls skills.

The children raised money for the charity, that helps vulnerable people in both the UK and the world's poorest countries.

During the week the youngsters also learned about how children live in Ghana, including having to make toys out of rubbish. The youngsters from the Longbridge Methodist Church-based nursery made toys for themselves out of recyclable materials.

Jacqueline Walker, Jellybabies Nursery's supervisor, said that the emphasis was placed on helping people in need, while the children enjoyed the fun range of sports activities.
