COMEDY legend Sir Norman Wisdom made his screen comeback in Bromsgrove this week.

The 91-year-old movie star was swamped by fans and photographers when he arrived on the set of short film Expresso at Waseley Hills Country Park on Wednesday (January 10).

The popular entertainer, who has notched up 60 years in the business, plays an elderly vicar in the ten-minute movie - which takes place around one day in a cafe.

It also features TV star Geoffrey Hughes (Coronation Street/Heartbeat), Don Warrington from Rising Damp, RSC actor Guy Henry, Vincent Franklin from The Office, Finty Williams - daughter of Dame Judi Dench and Michael Williams, and veteran Hong Kong film star Richard Ng.

Written and directed by Halesowen film-maker Kevin Powis, of Last Independent film company, and produced by Martin Nigel Davy from Birmingham, the short is backed by the UK Film Council and Screen West Midlands.

Filmed entirely on location at Waseley Hills visitor centre from January 9 to 11, the film should be ready for release by the end of March.
