A BROMSGROVE resident has been using pedal power to raise money for a cancer charity.
Town resident Danny Breithaupt pushed himself to the limit as he cycled 500 kilometres between June 19 and 22.
The cycling challenge was part of a six month fundraising partnership between Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research and Frankie & Benny’s - where Danny is the managing director.
“This has been a real challenge for me, but absolutely worth it given all of the hard work our teams at Frankie and Benny’s have put into raising over a quarter of a million pounds for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research," Danny said.
“The money will go towards beating blood cancer and ultimately saving lives, something that is definitely worth cycling for.
"I played a very small part in a huge team effort to raise so much money in six months.”
Cathy Gilman, chief executive of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, said: “The effort that Danny has put into training and on the ride itself has been inspirational.
"Our partnership continues to be a brilliant success and we are so grateful for all the fundraising so far."
The partnership resulted in a series of fundraising events including free breakfasts, a kids eat free weekend, and a pizza designing competition.
