THE manager of a Bromsgrove nursery says she was "saddened" after vandals caused hundreds of pounds of damage.
Staff, parents and youngsters arrived on the morning of Monday, April 20, to find the damage in the garden of Abacus Nursery School, in Barnsley Hall Drive.
Heartless vandals smashed a wooden entrance gate, had thrown planted garden pots around the area, and climbed on to the roof of the building and damaged a brand new central heating flue.
Police were called at 8.43pm to an act of criminal damage, which is believed to have happened between 1pm on Sunday, April 19, and 7.45pm on Monday, April 20.
Shirley Wilks, the nursery's manager, said: "It is very sad.
"The drive is a well known cut through to the Stourbridge Road and frequented by many dog walkers.
"Hopefully someone saw something. People are urged to report any suspicious activity."
A West Mercia Police spokesman said: “We were called by the nursery to report the criminal damage to their garden.
"This appears to be a senseless act of vandalism, which has caused distress to those who attend the nursery."
Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting 105s of April 20.
