BROMSGROVE MP Sajid Javid recently visited Dodford First School in Fockbury Road.

The business secretary took a tour of the school to see its latest developments and heard from staff and pupils about their work.

Mr Javid met with all the school classes and was shown a display of self-portraits made by the children.

He said: “I was very impressed by the work on display -Dodford is clearly home to some very talented children - be it in drawing, handwriting or football.

“Mrs Parkes and her staff are a great team and it is wonderful to see this local primary school going from strength to strength through their hard work and commitment to our children’s education.”

Headteacher Lisa Parkes said:“Dodford First School staff and children were very happy to welcome Sajid for a tour.

It was a great opportunity to show the exciting changes that have taken place around the school environment and the rich curriculum we have on offer.”
