BROMSGROVE bosses are being urged to make a splash for charity by taking a turn in a "dunking chair".

Johnson Fleming, the Bromsgrove-based specialists in workplace pensions and employee benefits, is hosting the charity "dunk" outside its offices in Aston Road on the Bromsgrove Enterprise Park on Friday, July 10 from noon to 5pm.

Company directors or workers from the area are invited to pay £50 for the honour of sitting in the chair and being dunked into a vat of ice cold water - with the proceeds going to CLIC Sargent, which helps families to deal with childhood cancer.

Bromsgrove firefighters will fill up the tub of water, which will be 4-5ft deep.

The event is part of a drive by the company in aid of CLIC Sargent, which is its charity of the year.

Marketing executive Luke Dunn said: "We've been split into eight teams of eight and each team is organising its own fundraising.

"Our team has chosen to organise the 'dunk and donate' event, in which people throw at a target to release a lever to plunge whoever is in the chair into the water.

"So far we have four companies who have said they will join in but we still have spaces left so anyone interested can come along and take part.

"We'd like to raise around £1,000."
