CREATIVE students at North Bromsgrove High School are celebrating after being recognised at an arts awards evening.
The school’s most promising art, drama, English, music, media and film pupils scooped accolades at the annual event, held in memory of former Head of English Mark Barden.
Mr Barden, who died in 2005, aged 45, following a short illness, taught at the school from 1998 to 2003.
Three major awards went to youngsters who have made an outstanding contribution to creative arts at the school - drama student Will Colley and cellist Siobhan Hughes, both 18, and 17-year-old Josh Barber for his technical expertise on school productions.
The audience were also treated to dance, singing and acting performances from top students.
David Gleave, event organiser and dean of sixth form, said: “Arts awards were again another success allowing us to showcase the fantastic creative talents of students while rewarding their achievements.
“We know universities and employers are looking for well-rounded young people who have made a real contribution to their school, as these students have.”
