LICKEY Hills Society is inviting Bromsgrove residents to its latest illustrated talk being held in October.
The presentation is called The Forgotten Man – The story of William Smith, the Father of English Geology.
William Smith is known for publishing the first nationwide geological map of England and Wales, in 1815. He was recently featured in the BBC 4 series, Canals: The Making of a Nation.
The talk is being given by Bryan Maybee at the society's meeting, taking place on Tuesday, October 20, at Trinity Centre, formerly Lickey Parish Hall, at the top of Rose Hill.
Doors open at 7.30pm, for a 8pm start.
Admission is free to members, £3 to non-members.
Light refreshments will be served.
