A COMMUNITY-run library is to open on Friday mornings from next month.
Earlier in the summer, Catshill residents were consulted on proposed changes to the library's opening hours.
They were asked to comment on plans for the change in the hours, creating an extra morning session on Fridays, in place of the existing Friday afternoon session.
A positive reaction has resulted in the change being agreed, with the library opening on Friday mornings from 9.30am to noon, from Friday, November 6.
The total number of hours the library is open is to remain the same.
Councillor Lucy Hodgson, cabinet member for communities and localism, said: "We are delighted that our proposal has been supported by residents. It was based on current usage of the library and will allow us to work more closely with local schools and nurseries."
