AN EASTER bunny was one of three winners at the charity fun run in Cofton Park this month, which raised more than £1,000 for Headway West Midlands.
Around 100 runners, joggers and walkers took part in the 5k Easter run on Sunday, March 20 to raise support Headway’s work helping brain injured survivors and their families.
Sue Tyler, CEO at Headway West Midlands, said: “This event was all about taking part and having fun, and it was fantastic to see such a mix of people on the start line. Thanks to the support of our sponsors and local supermarkets, we were able to give all entrants a medal and an Easter egg, and so everyone was a winner this time.”
Prizes were awarded to the first male Jack Dawkins and first female Kirsty Venn, as well as an award for the best Easter-themed costume which went to Julia Protesaru who works at Headway’s sister charity in Worcester.
A group of year 12 students from Colmore School in Rubery volunteered to help at the run, which is set to become an annual event in the charity’s fundraising calendar.
