A MAN in his 90s is in a critical condition in hospital after his mobility scooter crashed with a Volkswagen Polo on the A38 last night.

The crash occurred at 8.15pm on Thursday, June 9 near to the KFC on the junction with Stoke Road and Charford Road in Bromsgrove.

Police joined a West Midlands ambulance and a Midlands Air ambulance at the scene.

The driver of the mobility scooter sustained a fractured leg, chest and shoulder injuries and cuts and bruises to his head.

He was suffering from slightly reduced consciousness and was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital via land ambulance.

A medical doctor from the air ambulance travelled on the back of the land ambulance to continue treating the patient en route.

West Mercia Police is now appealing for witnesses. Anyone who saw either vehicle prior to the crash is urged to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 750s.
