APPLICATION forms are now available for communities in Bromsgrove, which have been affected by new housing schemes, to apply for grants.

Bromsgrove District Council has allocated a New Homes Bonus fund for residents to make improvements to facilities in their local area to address the impact of community growth.

It was agreed at a full council meeting on June 9 that 125,000 would be made available to residents that can evidence they have been affected.

This is made up of £23,840 that has been carried forward from 2015/16 and £101,000 from 2016/17 funding.

The funding from 2016/17 has been broken down into wards impacted by new housing developments, the details of which can be found in a ward breakdown schedule in the council website. The money carried over from last year is available to any Bromsgrove community.

Bids can be made across more than one ward if additional benefit to the community can be proved. Any bids need to have the support of the relevant ward councillor.

The closing date for applications to be received by the council is 5pm on Friday, July 29.
