THE pram accessory invention of a Bromsgrove tennis coach has won an award for its innovation.

Lee Cowan’s Sandlsider, which allows prams to move over uneven terrain, was recognised at Harrogate International Nursery Fair with the Baby Product Association’s Concept and Innovation Award.

The 34-year-old, who invented the product after watching parents struggle with prams in Gran Canaria, said the feedback had been ‘overwhelming’.

“It was a fantastic three-day trade show including some leading market retailers and baby industry companies, who expressed great interest in our product," said Lee.

"We had a brilliant launch and the feedback towards Sandsliders was overwhelming.

"We had lots of interest from various travel and baby magazines and everyone loved the ethical considerations of our brand.”

Lee was presented with £1,000 in legal services by Sara Ludlam, of 3volution.

The Sandslider, made from polypropylene, attaches to prams, buggies and strollers for use on snow, pebble beaches, pea gravel, muddy grass and campsites.
