A SEVEN-year-old Wythall boy had a day to remember after he was invited to meet his Birmingham City heroes by boss Garry Monk.
Mason was due to watch his idols at an open training session last month, but missed out as his mom Chianne McGowran unexpectedly had to be admitted to hospital.
His step-dad Liam tweeted Blues boss Monk to see if he could help, resulting in a special invite to the club’s Trillion Trophy Training Centre, where Mason met the first-team squad, and received a shirt from his favourite player Jota.
Liam told bcfc.com: “He has loved it. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him so happy. When he met the players he was all smiles, it’s been a really good day.”
Mason also had lunch with the players, and even sat in the manager’s chair in his office.
“He seemed to love sitting in the chair and Mason hates sitting down,” added Liam.
