Dorset House Nursing Home in Droitwich Spa are holding a Meet the Manager event on the June 24, so we spoke to registered manager, Karen Johnson, about what people can expect from the day.
Karen told us: “We know that making the decision for you or a loved one to move into a care home is a difficult one and a lot of times the need for care hits people very quickly, making an informed decision sometimes stressful.
"By inviting people to come into our home and meet with us on a relaxed no pressure basis hopefully we can alleviate some of that stress and answer some of the questions people have about care, even when looking into the future. Then, when it does come to making that decision, they have more of the information they need.
"It’s a very informal meeting; we’ll show you around the home and then have a chat, perhaps with a cup of tea.”
Dorset House are asking that people call to book a time slot in advance just to ensure everyone remains safe under covid regulations. Visitors would be welcome to bring along the potential resident to look around with them or it may be that you have questions or would like to look around for yourself.
If you want to go along and meet the team at the home but can’t make it on June 24, they would be more than happy to schedule a meeting that suits you, be that a weekend or evening. Karen said they really want to get across that they’re always there to help and that they do understand the pressure and concern of not knowing enough about the process for when it is needed.
