DROITWICH RFC are hoping to keep their Twickenham dream alive by booking a place in the last 16 of the EDF Senior Vase with a win over Vipers this Saturday.

The Midlands Three West (South) go into the game on the back of an epic top of the table clash with Sutton Coldfield, where they rescued a 24-24 draw with the last play of the game.

But now their attentions switch to the fifth round clash with the Leicestershire outfit, with a place in the national stages of the competition at stake.

Vipers currently sit eighth in Midlands Three East (South).

But Droitwich head coach Dan Protherough says the positions of the two sides in their respective leagues will not make his men favourites.

Protherough said the competition has captured the imagination of his players.

"We don't know anything about them and they don't know anything about us," he said.

"It is difficult to judge the difference in standard between our league and theirs.

"It is a game everyone is looking forward to. We need to keep up the commitment from last week.

"Everyone really wants to keep that dream alive of playing at Twickenham.

"Our results have been a product of how we have played and trained.

"We have shown over the last two years that when we work hard we are difficult to beat.

"It will also be good for the club's profile."

Protherough believes his side were good value for a share of the points in Saturday's draw with the league leaders.

"It was a very tough game but we really enjoyed it," he added.

"We definitley played the most attractive rugby."
