THE weekend football calendar looks set to be heavily affected by the freezing conditions across the country.

There are yellow warnings throughout the UK, the Midlands in particular, for snow and ice over the next four days.

The frost overnight into Saturday could well impact a lot of the non-league football matches involving the Worcestershire sides.

Kidderminster Harriers are due to host Blyth Spartans at Aggborough in the National League North on Saturday.

Worcester Raiders' clash at Chipping Sodbury Town has already been cancelled due to the pitch and there are doubts over whether Claines Lane will be in fit shape for the game with Shifnal Town on Saturday afternoon.

Malvern Town play on an artificial pitch so their game with Thornbury Town will go ahead, whilst Evesham United are still waiting to hear from Willand Rovers about their fixture.

At the moment, Droitwich Spa, Stourport Swifts and Bewdley Town all have their games on.

Pershore Town do not have a game this weekend anyway.

None of the games involving the Step 3 sides; Redditch United, Bromsgrove Sporting or Alvechurch have yet been cancelled.

Pitch inspections will take place in the morning but with the temperatures unlikely to rise much above zero throughout the morning, a lot of games could fall foul of the weather.
