A CARE home manager who ‘gels her team together’ has been nominated for a Worcestershire Health and Social Care award.

Ann Norris, manager of Chandos Lodge in Hagley has been nominated for The Health Care Employer Award and has been praised by staff for her impact on the team.

Staff member Janice Green said: “Ann should win this award because she goes above and beyond for the residents and staff and makes sure that everyone has what they need.

“She entertains residents - dancing and singing with them and is very supportive to staff.

“Ann supports staff individually and has completed a course in first aid and mental capacity to give staff the support they need.

“We call class Ann as our work mum.”

Janice also said staff enjoy coming to work as they are more like ‘family than work colleagues’.

After receiving the news of her nomination, Ann said it made her day and is ‘so excited’.

The 51-year-old has worked in care for 16 years and has managed Chandos Lodge for seven years.

“We are like a family here and all the staff are great,” said Ann.
