A WORRIED mum fearing for her toddler's health has been forced to sofa surf at family members' homes because her flat is filled with mould.
Lauren Mckay said she is concerned for her two-year-old's health because every single room in her flat on Bays Meadow in Droitwich is affected by mould.
The 21-year-old said she and her son Arlo Mills have been forced to stay with her mum and other relatives because she does not feel safe in the flat.
In response, Platform Housing said an appointment was made because of the mould and repairs are scheduled to be made.
"I feel angry," Miss Mckay said. "Damp is all in my son's room."
"It is stressful as we need to stay at my mum's house as we cannot be home, and my son and dog want to be home.
"I do not feel safe going back and I do not want my son to get poorly."
Miss Mckay said there is constant condensation on her windows and she has tried to create circulation in the property by keeping them open.
But with temperatures dropping, she fears keeping the windows will cost a fortune in bills and make the house too cold.
"I come to my mum's on and off and then other family members to stay overnight because I am uncomfortable staying there.
"I see the damp, and it all leaks through."
She claims the dampness in the property has caused her to experience brain fog and she has experienced increased health anxiety.
She added: "All I want to do is to protect my son and give him the best start in life but I am not getting that support."
Miss Mckay claims the company has been signing off jobs on her Platform Housing app without actually coming to the property and completing them.
She said they did try to paint over the mouldy walls however the mould has reappeared.
Platform Housing's chief operating officer Marion Duffy said: "We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused our customer and will be working with them closely to rectify the problem.
"We can confirm that two appointments have been made to attend the property to treat the problem and to carry out some work to improve the windows."
