A Tony Award-winning Broadway musical is set to come to the big screen in Bromsgrove.

'An American in Paris', which tells a classic story of love in the 'City of Light', will be shown at Bromsgrove Arts at Fairfield Village Hall, on Sunday, April 28.

As part of CinemaLive’s Big Screen Musical Season, the film adaptation is inspired by the Oscar-winning MGM movie.

Jerry Mulligan, the protagonist, is an American GI striving to be a painter in Paris, a city that is suddenly rejuvenated with hope and potential.

His path crosses with that of a young dancer named Lise, setting a backdrop of Paris streets where friendship, love, art and the aftermath of war are intertwined.

The musical has been critically acclaimed, receiving 28 five-star reviews from critics during its London premiere at the Dominion Theatre.

Featuring the music and lyrics of George and Ira Gershwin, the musical showcases classic hits like 'Wonderful' and 'I Got Rhythm'.

The musical is decked with distinctive designs and choreography that has wowed audiences.

The film was shot at Dominion Theatre with actor Robert Fairchild taking on the lead role of Jerry Mulligan.

Tickets are priced at £15, with a complimentary drink provided.
